Try to look nice — no jeans or at least no denim. Try to wear something without small straps. Get a hat or a visor if you don’t want to get burned. And NO FLIP FLOPS!

For men, it’s shorts to the knees (no denim) and shirts with collars and sleeves. For women, it’s swimwear.
OK…Kidding aside…Women the same.

Don’t use jeans for sure.

It can change from course to course, so you’d need to call the course you’re planning to play to be sure.
As a rule of thumb, though, what you see the pros on TV wearing is a good bet (although most courses allow shorts in the style of walking shorts). A safe bet for shirts is a polo-style collared shirt.

It depends upon the golf course you play.
Some local public courses have no dress
code (just decent). Most expensive courses
or country clubs require long slacks and
pull over shirts with collars, usually no jeans,
halters, or short shorts. You do need regular
golf shoes, the usual golf equipment, and
some kind of cap or hat. It’s a fun game.
Learn and have fun. You’ll meet many nice
and polite people.

Depends on the course. If you play a course that is operated by the city’s parks and recreation department, the dress code is pretty lax. I’ve never known anyone to get kicked off the course for what they’ve worn. No metal spikes is about it. Just wear what you would normally wear to a sporting event. If you play a more upscale course(a course within a residential community or a private country club), they typically don’t allow denim. Women’s attire can be sleeveless, but no spaghetti straps. Shorts/skorts must come to the knee. Men have to wear shirts with collars or a mock neck. No tank tops or wife beaters and no metal spikes.

It really depends on the course but generally shorts should be of “Bermuda” length, and golf shirts with a collar. Sleeveless top allowable for ladies but not men.

Every course has its own rules. Some only allow women to wear skirts. Some allow men to wear shorts, some don’t. When men or women are allowed to wear shorts there are often restrictions on the kind or colour of sock that you are allowed to wear.

Light bottoms, polo shirts, socks & golf shoes, always a hat. Oh, and a pair of golf gloves.
